How Can I Get Involved?

There are many volunteer opportunities for Religious Education!  
We ask that each family choose at least ONE area to volunteer in!
It takes many hands to put together a program of this size and creativity!  Look below to find the volunteer team that best fits your family.
 

Religious Education Classroom Volunteer Opportunities

Leader for Grades 1-8

Responsibilities

• Engaging in individual preparation as needed
• Facilitating a small group of students (1-5, 6-8, or 9) through following the plan provided by the Religious Education staff
• Textbooks and lesson plans and supplies will be provided

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic living in good standing with the Church
• Willingness to learn more about the Catholic faith and share with others
• Must be Virtus certified by Diocese of Madison (via online training)

Substitute Leader for Grades 1-9

• Engaging in individual preparation as needed
• Facilitating a small group of students on an as-needed basis
• Textbooks, lesson plans and supplies will be provided

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic living in good standing with the Church
• Willingness to dive in (sometimes last-minute) to support a classroom!
• Willingness to learn more about the Catholic faith and share with others
• Must be Virtus certified by Diocese of Madison (via online training)

Facilitator for Adult Discussions

• Engaging in individual preparation as needed
• Facilitating a small group of adults through following the plan provided by the Religious Education staff
• Lesson plans and materials will be provided

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic living in good standing with the Church
• Willingness to learn more about the Catholic faith and share with others
• Ability to listen and re-direct group using small group facilitator skills
• Understanding the content of the learning program

Floater

Responsibilities

• Check in with classroom leaders to assess any additional needs
• Be available throughout session to provide additional support to classroom leaders and Religious Education coordinators
• Make copies if needed, Monitor hallways/classroom area
• Must be Virtus certified by Diocese of Madison (via online training)

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic living in good standing with the Church
• Able to physically perform light manual labor
• Comfortable interacting with others and addressing questions/needs
• Flexible nature - a team player!
